Experience or not, sometimes emotions boil over. Mamadou Sakho (33), a former France international who has played for PSG and Liverpool FC in the past, is currently making headlines after a violent incident occurred during training at HSC Montpellier on Tuesday.
Beat up trainer
According to reports in the French newspaper L’Équipe, Sakho got into a heated argument with his coach Michel Der Zakarian (60). The conflict started on the field and continued in the locker room. The coach is said to have made derogatory comments that apparently caused Sakho’s patience to break.
It is said that Sakho grabbed Der Zakarian by the collar and even threw him to the ground, damaging the trainer’s necklace. Other team members had to intervene to separate the two brawlers.

Sakho, who played 23 times for the French national team, returned to Ligue 1 from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2021 but only plays a supporting role under Der Zakarian. His only appearance this season was a six-pointer on matchday seven against FC Lorient.
The left-footed player has had an impressive career, including 201 appearances for PSG and 80 appearances for Liverpool. Nevertheless, the violent altercation could mean the end of him at Montpellier, as he is reportedly threatened with immediate dismissal.
