Residents of the Gaza Strip say that Palestinian families buy or make their own bracelets for their children, while others write their children’s names on their arms, writes the news agency Reuters.
This is to ensure that the children are identified if they die or are killed. People who cannot be identified, on the other hand, are buried in mass graves. Health personnel, however, take photos and blood samples of those killed, as well as numbering them.
It was on October 7 that Hamas attacked Israel, whereupon Israel declared war. Since then, over 6,500 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian health authorities.

Splitting the family
40-year-old Ali El-Daba tells Reuters that his family has decided to split up to avoid everyone dying in one rocket attack. His wife Lina, two of their sons and two of their daughters stay in Gaza City, while El-Daba has gone to Khan Younis with three children.
In addition, the family has purchased blue bracelets that all family members wear on both wrists.
– If something should happen, I will be able to recognize them, says El-Daba to Reuters.
Ground invasion of Gaza
It has long been expected that Israel will carry out a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip. On Wednesday evening, however, the Wall Street Journal reported that the US has managed to persuade Israel to postpone the ground invasion until further notice.
This is because the US allegedly wants to put air defense systems in place in the region, in case a possible ground invasion should lead to new attacks from Iran and Iranian-backed armed factions in the Middle East.
Already, Iranian-backed armed factions in the Middle East have claimed responsibility for daily attacks against US forces deployed in Iraq and Syria, according to the think tank Institute for the Study of War.
The Pentagon, for its part, has stated that at least 13 drone and missile attacks against US and allied forces in Iraq and Syria have been recorded in the past week.
