The French museum Le Musée Grévin restored a wax statue of the star Dwayne. The RockJohnson, after some museumgoers complained about it, and the wax statue was reinstalled with a more realistic skin tone, and was modified within 24 hours.

Modifying the shape of The Rock statue

The Parisian museum revealed a life-sized statue of the wrestler turned actor who starred in dozens of films earlier this month, and criticism was swift from visitors and from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the owner of the statue, with accusations of giving the statue a whiter skin tone than it is. Its owner, in fact, according to what Euronews reported.

The world-famous Dwayne Johnson was born as The Rock, a name he adopted for himself since he began participating in drag shows in California, to a black father from Nova Scotia and a mother from Samoa.

Johnson posted a video of comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr. grilling the statue, and Jefferson said the Paris museum made the rock look like a “pebble.”

“I will ask my team to reach out to our friends at the Griffin Museum in Paris, France so we can work on updating my wax statue here with some important details and improvements starting with my skin tone,” he said.

The Griffin Museum said of The Rock’s comments that staff worked through the night to “address the skin tone” of the wax statue. The wax statue was reinstalled today, October 25, with a more realistic skin tone, and was adjusted within 24 hours.
