Vitaly Mikolenko’s club Everton risks being fined 12 points in the current Premier League season for violating the league’s financial regulations.
The case is now being reviewed by an independent commission, with a decision expected before the end of calendar 2023. Over the past three years, the club has suffered losses of £371.8 million, well above the Premier League’s £105 million allowance.
In addition to the penalty of deprivation of points, Everton are also threatened with a transfer ban and a monetary fine. The team is currently 16th in the Premier League standings, just three points ahead of the relegation zone.
