Lenovo’s Adaptive Display: The Future of Mobile with Flexible pOLED Technology

Lenovo showed off a concept phone at the Tech World 23 event Adaptive Display with a flexible pOLED display. The prototype of the unique phone can bend around the wrist, turning it into a watch, or bends so that it also serves as a stand. According to Lenovo, this is a key product for the mobile future, which should be “hands-free”.

Motorola did not add any further technical specifications to the concept, which looks very interesting in the video. We only know that the display has a diagonal of 6.9 inches and a Full HD+ resolution. The phone has wide frames around the display, its back is unusually made of textile material. Underneath, however, there are magnets…

Lenovo’s Adaptive Display concept can stand on its own and display at 4.6 inches. Alternatively, it can be wrapped around the wrist, so it suddenly becomes a smart watch

… thanks to which the phone can be bent over the magnetic bracelet on the wrist. A smartphone suddenly becomes a smart watch. And the size of the display on the wrist perfectly corresponds to the external display of the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra.

However, Motorola went a little further and showed the possibilities of its artificial intelligence. After taking a photo, the MotoAI engine in this phone was able to create a wallpaper that seamlessly followed the pattern of the wearer’s clothing.

Artificial intelligence will create the wallpaper:

Motorola’s artificial intelligence can even create a “photocopy” from a photo. All shadows, fold marks and other visual imperfections are simply removed from the recording. The photo will thus become a graphic that you can further use or quickly share.

Creating a photocopy from a captured image:

The final AI demonstration feature is privacy protection, where when you take a screenshot of a social network application, the names of the people who added their comment are automatically hidden.

Artificial intelligence and privacy protection:

Lenovo has not given any time frame for the concepts when they should be put into practice. This is rather just an outline of the directions in which this brand would like to go in the mobile world in the near future.
