The response from McDonald’s divisions in the Arab world and other Islamic countries was not long in coming. In Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, Pakistan and Turkey, McDonald’s restaurant branches quickly and explicitly distanced themselves from the Israeli action.
“Oman supports Gaza,” McDonald’s Oman posted on X, formerly Twitter. The department donated 100,000 dollars (about 95,000 euros) to Gaza. In total, the various departments in Islamic countries raised more than 3 million dollars (more than 2.8 million euros) for Gaza.
