The Seventh Edition of the National Poetry Contest “Unknown Streets” has begun!

The beginning of the competition was set in 2012, when the collection of poems by Maria Mutafchieva was published, published by the publishing house “Znatsi”, illustrated by Nevena Angelova and bearing the name of the most popular song of the Mary Boys Band – “Unknown Streets”.

It contains Mary’s school poems. Soon after, the idea of a poetry contest for students from all over the country came up. Behind this idea are also Milena Andonova – the girl with whom Mary sits in the same class at the Mathematical High School in Burgas and the current director of the high school, and Rumiana Emmanuelidou – a journalist, publicist and publisher.

Maria Mutafchieva shares: “We sincerely believe in the talent of young people in Bulgaria! We know that even in the 21st century you are tempted to create poetry and share your thoughts with the white paper and with the world, beloved people of the future! We are curious about what you think, what excites you, how you express yourself… Are you already walking your “unknown streets” in creativity?

Share your thoughts with us! Submit your free-form poems for the Seventh Edition of the National Poetry Contest “Unknown Streets”! If you are students from class VII to XII inclusive, this invitation is just for you!

I – Maria Mutafchieva, publishing house “Znatsi” and PPMG “Acad. Nikola Obreshkov” – Burgas, we invite you to send three of your poems to the e-mail: contest@pmgbs.com between October 1 and November 12. Please indicate one of them, which you think represents you best! Milena Andonova and Rumiana Emmanuelidou and I will read the poems and award the first three in the categories: “From VII to IX class” and “From X to XII class”.
