Ronaldo Celebrated by Fans as he Reaches 200 Matches, While Benzema Shows Generosity in Saudi Professional League Clash

Al-Nasr captain Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his happiness at his team’s fans celebrating him after reaching 200 matches with Portugal, while Al-Ittihad striker Karim Benzema was actually generous with Al-Taawoun after he accidentally scored in his own net in a draw between the two teams in the tenth round of the Saudi Professional League.

Ronaldo scored the goal of Al-Nasr’s 2-1 victory over Damac after falling behind in the score, but what pleased the Portugal captain most was the artistic painting that the fans painted to celebrate him.

The fans drew, using paper, the phrase “Greatest of All Time” next to the number seven, which belongs to the Portuguese star, and raised a banner in which Ronaldo appeared in the form of a superhero next to the number 200 in the stands of the First Park Stadium.

After the match, Ronaldo said to the Saudi Sports Company (SSC) network: “I feel grateful and happy with the Saudi people. They make me happy and I bring joy to their hearts as well.”

On the other hand, Benzema appeared double-faced during Al-Ittihad’s 1-1 draw with Al-Taawoun, after scoring the goal that put his team ahead before accidentally scoring into his own net four minutes later.

Benzema seemed truly generous to the home team after his teammate Marcelo Grohe accidentally scored, causing Al-Ittihad to stumble again and collect only two points from the last three matches.

Al-Ittihad fell to fifth place, while Al-Taawoun remained in second place with 23 points, three points behind leaders Al-Hilal.

In Al Hilal, coach Jorge Jesus decided to replace Michel in the last minute of regular time in the 1-0 win over Al Khaleej, and the player became extremely angry, as he violently threw his water bottle to the ground before his coach approached him.

It seemed that he got into an argument with the coach, while a member of the training staff tried to separate them.

But the Brazilian player said that he was angry with himself because he did not perform at the level he aspired to.

He told the SSC network through a translator: “There is no disagreement with Jesus, but I know that I can do better (than my current level). “What happened has nothing to do with the switch.”

As for Al-Shabab, it celebrated its first match in its new stadium under the leadership of its new Croatian coach Igor Pescan, with a 2-0 victory over Al-Taei.

The fans raised a banner that read, “A new home for the glory industry.”

At exactly 5:20 pm local time on Sunday, Riyadh announced its contract with Yahya Al-Shehri in a free transfer, and about two hours later, the former Saudi player was participating from the bench in the 1-0 win over Al-Ettifaq.

Al-Shehri told the SSC network: “I have the honor to play for Riyadh Club.” Pointing out that he signed the contract two days ago and that he was “ready” to participate.
