Self-Security Process in Lebanon: Formation of Joint Committee in Aramoun for Ensuring Town’s Safety

“Lebanon Debate”

The town of Aramoun, Aley District, joined the self-security process being implemented in some Lebanese regions. Last night, groups affiliated with the municipality distributed news about the formation of what was called a “joint committee” composed of sheikhs, parties, and residents, in coordination with the mukhtars, in order to “ensure the security and safety of our people and the safety of the residents in the village.”

The committee decided to begin implementing security measures, meaning placing iron gates at the entrances to the town, and specifying entry and exit times to and from the town, with young volunteers in what was called the “Aramoun Guard Committee” patrolling the town’s streets and entrances throughout the night, accompanied by With the concentration of fixed points within the neighborhoods and on some internal roads.
