On October 26th, at one o’clock in the afternoon, the first crews will pass by the head of state, Petr Pavel, at Hradanskm nmst in Prague, as they start the Central European Rally with a ceremonial opening. At 2:05 pm, they will embark on a 2.44-kilometer long super special stage in Velká Chuchle, marking the first leg of the rally.
Organizers have been working tirelessly at the racecourse since Monday to ensure a safe and successful event. The preparations in Chuchle are going according to plan and on schedule. “We are trying to be as considerate as possible and, after the event, we will restore everything to its original state. We are confident that this Thursday’s super special stage will be an incredible experience for the fans,” said Tom Kunc, the General Secretary of the Czech Automobile Club and the Managing Director of the Central European Rally.
In addition to the eleven Czech crews, including Erik Cais and Adam Bezek, rally enthusiasts can also look forward to seeing all the top current drivers, including Kalle Rovanperä, who has a chance to secure the title in the Czech-Austrian-German round, as well as the legendary Sébastien Ogier.
The Central European Rally will be broadcast live on O2 TV Sport. The channel will cover the rally from Thursday to Sunday, offering complete coverage of the WRC season. On Thursday, O2 TV Sport will broadcast the ceremonial start and the speed tests simultaneously with T Sport.
After Velká Chuchle, there will be another special stage on the Nové Město circuit in Klatovy on Thursday. On Friday, there will be six speed tests in Šumava, before the rally crosses the border.
For spectators, there will be a rich accompanying program. Before the celebration at Hradanskm nmst, there will be autograph sessions. In Klatovy and Austria, there will be evening concerts. In Chuchle, large screens will be set up for spectators to follow the action from other locations. There will also be an exhibition of racing and sports vehicles, as well as a simulator with virtual reality, where interested individuals can experience what it feels like to be a co-driver during a rally.
