In the United States, Halloween risks becoming a firefighter’s nightmare. At a home in New York State, emergency services were called to the town of Glens Falls in early October for what appeared to be a massive house fire. Arriving on site, the firemen discovered that these flames licking the curtains of each window were only a stage created to scare the neighborhood a few weeks before Halloween.
Firefighters in the region finally laughed about the situation in a publication posted on their Facebook account. “To our surprise, it was an amazing Halloween decoration. This exhibit will be available Friday and Saturday evenings for public entertainment through the end of the month.” Hyper-realistic burning house decorations have been all the rage in the United States for several years, in the run-up to the famous Day of the Dead. In October 2020 in California, emergency services responded to a couple who had caused panic in their neighborhood by projecting yellow lights behind their windows and using fans to create the illusion of a gigantic fire.
