Exclusive Interview with Valery Peresolyak: The Scandalous Incident in the “Chernomorets” – “Minai” Match

October 24, 2023, Tuesday. 10:51

The president of “Minai” Valery Peresolyak exclusively for UA-Football commented on the scandalous episode in the match “Chernomorets” – “Minai” (3:0), during which Andrei Buleza was injured. I also went through the leadership of the UAF judiciary.

– How does Andrei Buleza feel? The video footage of his injury looked very creepy.

“If it’s scary for us to look at this, imagine what the young football player went through. Andrey is in despair and constantly feels pain. Doctors are still making a diagnosis. But it is already clear that everything is complicated there. And we lost our main player for a long time.

NOVOKHOTNY SHOWED HIS INCOMPETENCE

– So, are you convinced that Vasiliev intentionally fouled in that episode?

– I don’t think it was intentional, but it’s obvious that he broke the rules. I am not an expert in refereeing, but after collecting a large number of expert opinions, I came to a clear conclusion – a foul and a card for Vasiliev (which card – opinions differed here). My friends, experienced referees and current referees, explain: Vasiliev played the ball and then hit Buleza’s leg. If he had kicked the ball, Novokhatny’s decision would have been correct. But the ball remained in front of our player, and if not for the foul, Andrei could have continued the attack and scored. Plus, there is a consequence factor for this careless foul by Vasiliev. In such cases, the referee immediately takes into account what happened to the victim when making a verdict. If something is serious, then the punishment for the culprit is equally serious.

Remember the memorable moment two years ago, when Zarya goalkeeper Vasil went to intercept, kicked the ball cleanly, but landed on the Olimpik forward and broke his leg. Then referee Balakin also didn’t even give a foul at first, but looked at VAR, saw the fracture and sent off the goalkeeper. But in our case, Novokhatny showed his incompetence.

VERY LOW – LIE AT THIS LEVEL, SENOR LUCHI

– You are trying to speak out so correctly… I remember the same Olympic president Gelzin, who acted much more radically when the judges made mistakes in favor of his team’s opponents…

– There is no point in expressive actions! Although arbitration after each round pushes us to radical action! I don’t remember such a number of effective mistakes in the history of our championships. And “Minai” suffers the most. The most annoying thing is that UPL clubs do not have any leverage to get quality refereeing. For example, we still don’t understand how referees are punished for gross mistakes.

– Well, there was recently a meeting between representatives of clubs and the heads of the judiciary. Why didn’t you directly ask Luchi or Rizzoli about this?

– We were just asking about this. They talked about a specific case when in the sixth round the referee Bondarenko made a gross mistake, the Committee admitted this and allegedly punished him. Luchi began to claim that he banned the referee for a month and said that for a judge, working as a video assistant referee is a punishment! Because as the main player in the field, he receives a fee of 39 thousand hryvnia, and VAR – 6 thousand. What we have in fact: Rays cynically made us clowns. Everyone present at the meeting.

Firstly, Bondarenko really did not referee for a month, but during this time in September there were only two rounds in which he worked as a VAR, and then again he was the main player in the field at the Krivbass – Rukh match. Well, secondly, we raised the documents, looked at the amount that the club pays specifically for the services of the VAR van personnel, and discovered the figure of 55 thousand hryvnia. That is, even if five people receive 6 thousand each, there is no way the total will be 55. Obviously, the video assistant receives a decent fee. We don’t go into anyone’s pocket, but it’s very low to lie at this level, Senor Luchi.

– What’s next? What do you mean when you talk about radical action?

– With each round, after the next “performance” of the judges, the question arises: who needs this kind of football? Fans – no, football players who are “killed” on the field – no, club owners – no. So is it worth investing in? We hope that club presidents will find some solution to these problems at collective meetings. Otherwise, our football will continue to slide into the abyss.
