Intermittent entertainment workers are mobilizing this Friday as part of unemployment insurance negotiations.
Inter-professional unemployment insurance negotiations and, in parallel, those of intermittent workers in the entertainment industry have been taking place since the end of September between unions and employers’ organizations. Negotiations concerning the entertainment sector will end this Friday, October 27, agreement or not, and will be referred to inter-professional negotiations which will continue until November 15. “These are negotiations which take place every 3, 4 years. The last time, we did not manage to have an agreement between Medef and the employee organizations. It is the state which took control. there is a risk that the inter-professional will not necessarily validate what can, perhaps, benefit from an agreement concerning the entertainment sector. What is the state going to do with it? Because the framework letter signed by Medef and signatories not representative of our sector demands 15% savings on our system. We are quite worried about what this could result in application. That is to say – 15% on the allowances of intermittent workers. While everyone is currently talking about salary increases, for us it would be the opposite.”
Maya Paquereau, from the French Union of Performers (SFA CGT spectacle), recalls that the artists and entertainment technicians of the Hautes-Pyrénées, Pyrénées-Ztlantiques and Gers met, recently, in a general assembly at the Stock Exchange of Tarbes Labor. They asked to be received, this Friday, October 27, by the prefect of Hautes-Pyrénées. A rally is planned in front of the Hautes-Pyrénées prefecture this Friday the 27th.
