The Cuban Olfides Sáez (89 kgs) obtained a bronze medal today by totaling 357 kilograms, in the weightlifting of the Santiago de Chile 2023 Pan American Games.
In his career, the weightlifter from Cienfuegos lifted 156 kilograms in the snatch test, but failed two other attempts with 161. And in the clean and jerk, he achieved 201 and also failed twice in lifts of 205 kilograms.
The victory went to the Venezuelan Keydomar Vallenilla (383 kg) and the silver medal went to the Colombian Yeison López (382 kg).
With this bronze from Sáez, the Cuban delegation now accumulates two gold medals, one silver and two bronze.
