Mumbai: Kerala won by 132 runs against Sikkim in Mushtaq Ali Trophy. This is Kerala’s fifth consecutive win. Rohan Kunnummal (101 not out) scored a century. Score: Kerala – 221 for 3 in 20 overs. Sikkim – 89 for 9 in 20 overs.
Rohan Kunnummal’s innings consisted of two sixes and 14 fours in 56 balls. Vishnu Vinod (79) and Ajnaz Rasheed (25) also excelled for Kerala. Wicket keeper Varun Nayanar was dismissed for six runs. Abdul Basit (4) remained unbeaten. Skipper Sanju Samson did not bat.
Chasing a big score, Sikkim had a bad start. Sabin Chhetri was dismissed in the third ball without getting any runs. After that, the innings ended with 89 runs for the loss of nine wickets as there were no good partnerships. Unnikrishnan Manukrishnan, Pathirikat Mithun and Sijomon Joseph took two wickets each for Kerala. Vaishakh Chandran and Suresh Visweshar took a wicket each.
Currently, Kerala are on the first position in Group B in the points table. Kerala had defeated Chandigarh, Bihar, Services and Himachal Pradesh in the previous matches.
