Libreville, October 23, 2023 (AGP) – Thanks to his work in the television series entitled “Le Chic, le choc et l’éché”, Gabonese director Jérémie Tchoua wins the best prize in his category, during the “Écrans Noirs” festival. which was held from October 14 to 21 in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
In homage to the Senegalese filmmaker and man of culture Sembène Ousmane, Yaoundé, political capital of Cameroon, hosted, for a week, the 27th edition of the film festival called “Écrans Noirs”.
An event to which the young Gabonese filmmaker was awarded an honorary prize, in the presence of many other film buffs also present at this ceremony.
On the program of this festival which brought together many talents from African cinema: screenings of cinematographic works, training in production and acting, symposium, etc. Festival-goers were also able to watch the films and series in competition and appreciate the work of the directors and actors. It was at the end of this exercise that the work of Jérémie Tchoua was awarded the best television series of 2023.
A prize crowned with congratulations from alumni, notably Serge Abessolo: “ I send him all my congratulations not only for this prize, but also for his work and his pugnacity. Congratulations again Jérémie, as well as to your entire team“, he rejoiced in a Facebook post.
Gabonese cinema proves once again that it is full of talent. However, the support of the actors of this art is still criticized in view of the inadequacies.
