Daryl Mitchell Becomes Second New Zealand Batsman to Score Century Against India in ODI World Cup

Dharamsala: Daryl Mitchell became the second New Zealand batsman to score a century against India in the ODI World Cup.

After a gap of 48 years, a New Zealand batter will score a century against India in the World Cup. The predecessor is Jen Turner who scored a century against India in the 1975 World Cup. Turner scored 114 runs in the match in Manchester.

Mitchell’s fifth ODI century was born yesterday. The star also recorded his highest score in ODIs.

Individual scores of 59 and 69 were wasted by Mitchell’s catches for India. For Mitchell to add 159 runs with Rachin Ravindra (75).

This is the highest partnership between India and New Zealand. Sunil Gavaskar and Krishnamachari Srikanth’s partnership of 136 runs in 1987 is legendary.
