It was there that 48-year-old Chulpan Khamatova fled, not yet included in the list of foreign agents, but speaking quite harshly about her native country. Today it became known that the Russian actress met with the “main breadwinner of the Soviet Union” Laima Vaikule. The latter came to the Riga Theater named after Mikhail Chekhov for the play “Caligula,” where Shamil Khamatov played. The singer does not hide her delight after her conversation with Chulpan Nailevna.
“She decided to support her brother. It was very touching – it was clear that she was worried. We drank tea and talked. The most interesting thing is that Chulpan already speaks Latvian!” Laima Stanislavovna smiles.
As for Khamatova, she settled quite well in her new place. Of course, the actress’s income has dropped significantly, but at least she has at least some work, unlike many relocant artists. In addition, Chulpan Nailevna is actively trying to integrate into local society. Every day she takes Latvian language classes, hoping to “overcome the barrier of voice” as soon as possible. Recently she even passed the exam for the first level of Latvian.
At the same time, Khamatova, who was recently filmed lying on the street, does not rule out returning to Russia, but only to earn money. When potential customers contacted her, the founder of the Gift of Life foundation sent them to her manager to coordinate the details.
