The Michigan State University football team apologized Saturday after a photo of Adolf Hitler appeared on the stadium’s giant screen.

The controversy, which occurred during the pre-match, sparked its share of reactions, forcing the university to apologize.
“We are deeply sorry for the content shown, and it does not represent our institutional values,” said team director Matt Larson.
The photo of the former German chancellor appeared in the enclosure during a quiz game.

Spectators present in the “Spartan Stadium” were invited to answer a question related to Hitler’s birthplace.
The university specifies that the content was broadcast by another company responsible for entertainment during the matches.
Matt Larson confirmed that Michigan State University would no longer work with the offending company.
