In the distant 1980s, a project was born at the Zaporozhye Automobile Plant that could change the course of the history of the domestic automotive industry. The developers presented a unique and ambitious plan for creating a supercar called ZAZ-1104.

This project attracted the attention of automobile enthusiasts and could become a turning point in the history of the domestic automobile industry.
ZAZ-1104 was presented as a two-door sports car, which in appearance to some extent resembled the famous Porsche 924 model. The cabin provided space for two passengers and was designed with comfort and aesthetic appeal in mind. It was planned to equip the ZAZ-1104 with a 1.6-liter engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, with the engine located in the front – this arrangement was unexpected and non-standard for cars produced by the Zaporozhye plant at that time.
However, despite the potential and interest generated by the ZAZ-1104, the project remained at the development stage and was not brought into reality. It remained only at the level of drawings and concept. However, the idea of creating a domestic sports car was truly significant and reflected the desire of the Zaporozhye plant for innovation and development of the automotive industry in the country.
