“The Woman in Me” (published by Simon & Schuster in the United States and JCLattès in France, under the title “La femme en moi”) is released on Tuesday in around twenty countries, translated into around ten languages. This is one of the big hits of the fall in bookstores.
As always in these cases, the text was jealously kept secret by the publisher who, according to American media, paid more than 15 million dollars to acquire the rights.
“Reliving all of this has been exciting, heartbreaking and moving,” the singer told People magazine, which published the first pages of this explosive confession book on Tuesday.
“For all these reasons, I will only read a small portion of my audiobook,” she continued. Actress Michelle Williams will do the rest.
Leading sales
A few days before its release, the book is at the top of sales on Amazon United States and France, for pre-order.
The publication of the correct sheets has already caused a lot of reaction.
The ‘Toxic’ singer reveals she had an abortion while dating fellow pop superstar Justin Timberlake between 1999 and 2002. ‘One of the most difficult experiences of my life,’ she writes . “If the decision had been mine, I never would have done it.”

On her Instagram account, where she speaks laconically under videos of herself dancing among her furniture, the pop star explained to her more than 42 million subscribers that “there are so many things that are difficult to read in the press about his book. And added that “nothing matters at this stage”.
What other revelations will follow? This speech by the singer comes two years after the end of her guardianship, put in place in 2008 when she was going through a deep depression, against a backdrop of separation from her then husband, Kevin Federline, with whom she had two boys.
