It must be said that the year 2023 was quite successful for India in the field of space. At the end of August, it achieved two successes at once – it reached the surface of the Moon for the first time and became the first country in the world to successfully reach the South Pole of the Moon. And in September, India launched a probe to study the sun. It is logical that what has been done has significantly raised its self-confidence in the field of space, and the country has committed to building its own space station by 2040, as well as sending astronauts to the moon.
India’s space agency has announced plans to build its own space station, Bharatiya Antariksha Station, by 2035 and launch a manned mission to the moon, Gaganyaan, in five years. It will be the first time that India will send its own astronauts to the moon, so it needs serious preparation, which the country is already doing.

The Indian space agency has announced that it is already developing a plan for a crewed mission to the moon. On October 21, a demonstration flight of the test vehicle “Crew Escape System” is planned. On the other hand, three test missions with a launch vehicle without the participation of the crew are planned later. In total, about 20 tests are planned before astronauts are sent to the moon.
India has not revealed much about the creation of the space station, except that it is planned to be built by 2035. Along with all this, India also plans to carry out interplanetary missions to Mars and Venus, in which a new launch platform and a next-generation launch vehicle, which are also actively being worked on, will play an important role.
