After their defeat at Bourgoin last weekend, the Thionvillois were keen to redeem themselves in their home venue, against Rouen. Quick start for the Normans who quickly took the score through Vujovic and Morin (0-3). The locals tried to react, the ball circulated quickly to the wings, but we had to wait five minutes to see Begarin score the first Thionville goal (1-3). TMHB’s affairs were not improving, Honneux effectively replaced Vujovic (3-7, 15th). But after 20 minutes, the game remained playable, especially when Kali brought his team to within one goal (7-8). In a match where the defenses and in particular the goalkeepers took the upper hand over the attacks, it took two saves from Lagrange, a missile from the dashing Kali, then a pivotal goal from Jimenez to narrow the score (10-11). At the end of the first half, Rouen with rapid ball recoveries and Fitte Duval who ensured the finish gave themselves a little fresh air before the break (11-13). As soon as they returned from the locker room, Tike, in his goal, tried to disgust the local offensives. Which allowed Le Manissier to give the Normans five steps ahead (11-16).
Too fast pace
At the start of the second act, everything seemed complicated for Thionvillois who often relied on Kali’s arm to find the net. But it bore fruit, the TMHB left-back continued, single-handedly, to make the opponent doubt (17-19, 43rd). Thionville tried to stay the course but began to show signs of fatigue in the face of the pace of the visitors who further aggravated the score with very well launched counter-attacks by their goalkeeper. In this game, Vujovic, Andreau and Honneux had fun (17-24, 51st). The TMHB logically bowed ((25-29).
