Controversy Surrounds Greta Thunberg’s Pro-Palestinian Message Due to Alleged Anti-Semitic Symbol

Greta Thunberg wanted to share a pro-Palestinian message, but there was a detail hidden in her photo that many interpreted as an anti-Semitic symbol.

Stockholm (Sweden) – The climate crisis was yesterday. Now Greta Thunberg (20) is interfering in the conflict in Israel and called for the liberation of Palestinians in a new social media post. But a detail in the photo, in which she and other activists hold posters into the camera, forced her to edit the image.

Like the US newspaper New York Post reported that a small stuffed animal in the shape of an octopus was the culprit. Greta Thunberg was not aware that this animal was being used as a symbol for anti-Semitic agitation.

The small octopuses are also available in many shops in Germany: the colorful stuffed animals can be turned inside out and thus show a friendly mood or sadness or a bad mood

Greta stated that the little octopus is a “tool that autistic people often use to communicate their feelings.”

Greta Thunberg Charged with disturbing public order: Greta Thunberg!

The climate activist and founder of the “Fridays for Future” movement was probably trying to express her displeasure in this way – Thunberg herself is on the autism spectrum.

What the 20-year-old, who was already calling for pro-Palestine demonstrations, apparently didn’t know: The octopus first became a symbol of anti-Semitism at the beginning of the 20th century.

The Kraken: Not a sole symbol against Judaism

In addition, the Kraken is still used today for a wide variety of conspiracy theories. According to the Georg von Vollmar Academy For education, “Bismarck, Stalin, Hitler, Churchill, Putin, Trump, Merkel, Zuckerberg and Bill Gates” have already been portrayed as world-controlling octopuses.

“Liberate Palestine,” “This Jew is on Palestine’s side,” “Climate Justice Now!” and “Stand on the side of Gaza” can be read on the activists’ four posters. Despite the new post, the message that Greta Thunberg wants to spread has not changed.

When Greta was made aware of her mistake, she deleted the post and uploaded a similar image – without the octopus – to reiterate her support for Palestinians in Gaza.

In contrast to other celebrities, such as Kylie Jenner (26), she did not try to cover up the mishap, but stood by it: “It has come to my attention that the stuffed animal shown in my earlier post can be interpreted as a symbol of anti-Semitism, which I “I wasn’t aware of it at all,” the 20-year-old explained on X/Twitter.

“Of course we are against any kind of discrimination and condemn anti-Semitism in all forms and variants. This is non-negotiable,” Greta made clear, “That’s why I deleted the last post.”

Greta Thunberg Court orders Greta Thunberg to pay a fine! She is accused of that

Nevertheless, her message was strongly condemned by former Israel Defense Forces spokesman Arye Sharuz Shalicar, 46.

“Anyone who identifies with Greta in any way in the future is, in my opinion, a terrorist supporter,” the angry German with Persian and Israeli roots told the newspaper Politico.
