A unique GAZ-21 Volga sedan with a diesel engine was discovered in a Polish village, which became an unusual find. Although it may look like a standard Soviet sedan from the outside, there is a diesel engine under the hood.
The discovery is notable because it was not a homemade modification or prototype, but rather a small-scale model intended for the European market.
It is noteworthy that the GAZ-21 Volga was exported not only to the countries of the socialist bloc, but also to various European countries, including Austria, Belgium, Greece, Germany, Finland and Sweden.
Among them, the Belgian company SA Scaldia-Volga even initiated a large-scale assembly of Volga sedans from car kits. A unique part of these cars were equipped with diesel engines; a total of 167 of these GAZ-21 diesel sedans were produced.

Unfortunately, these specific nameplates were not preserved on the discovered GAZ-21. The car model is a Volga of the third series, produced from 1962 to 1970.

Although the current condition of the GAZ-21 is far from ideal, there is rust and operational problems, it appears that the car has been purchased and may be in the process of being restored.
