The Israeli occupation army announced on Saturday that a reserve officer was killed and three others were wounded during an exchange of fire yesterday, Friday, with fighters from the Lebanese Hezbollah on the border with Lebanon.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said that on Saturday morning, the army allowed the news of the killing of the officer, called Omar Bello (22 years old), to be published. It added that 3 other soldiers were injured during the clash, two of whom were moderately injured, and the third was slightly injured.
The Lebanese News Agency reported that Hezbollah targeted an Israeli infantry force near the Burnett Barracks, announcing that it had confirmed casualties, including one dead and one wounded.
For her part, Al Jazeera’s correspondent in the Galilee said that the Israeli army shot down a march that crossed the border with Lebanon last night, and the Israeli home front had sent warnings to the residents of the Golan and Galilee that at least one march had been breached.
The Israeli army announced, in a statement at dawn on Saturday, that it attacked a series of Hezbollah military targets inside Lebanese territory, including operational concentrations and infrastructure, in response to the firing of anti-tank missiles and the launching of rockets into Israeli territory last night.
