The Italian Prime Minister broke up with his friend because of his unflattering words
(AFP, Rome, 20th) Italian Prime Minister Meloni announced today that she has broken up with her partner and the father of her daughter, Gianni Bruno. He was recently recorded having a vulgar conversation and appeared to admit to having an affair.
Giorgia Meloni posted on social media, “My relationship with Andrea Giambruno of nearly 10 years has ended.” She also said that the two “have been going their separate ways for a while.”
TV journalist and presenter Jon Bruno was filmed openly making sexually suggestive and sexist remarks to a female colleague on the sidelines of Italian TV channel Rete 4’s talk show “Diario del Giorno” fragment.
He can be heard saying to a woman, also off-camera: “Honey, how are you? Do you know that X (name withheld) is having an affair with me? Everyone at Mediaset We all know it, and now you know it too.”
Another TV station broadcast the above-mentioned leaked footage on the 17th and 19th, showing that Jon Bruno said at the time: “But we are looking for a third person to have a threesome, or a foursome. Do you want to play for our multi-person combination?”
Meloni, 46, who will celebrate her first anniversary in office this weekend, leads a right-wing government that has fiercely defended traditional family values.
There was a lot of controversy surrounding Bruno’s gaffe, and Meloni was forced to support her partner in August. He was accused at the time of blaming the sexual assault victim.
Jon Bruno, 42, was talking about gang rape at the time: “If you avoid getting drunk and losing your mind, maybe you can avoid getting into certain problems and encountering perverts.”
In a post today, Meloni also expressed her gratitude to Jon Bruno for “the brilliant years he has devoted, the difficult moments we have spent together, and the most important daughter in my life, Ginevra.”
