GERB Calls for Withdrawal of Derogation for Lukoil, Criticizes Government’s Handling

GERB will submit next week a draft decision to withdraw the derogation from “Lukoil”, to oblige the government within a week to withdraw the derogation. This was announced this evening in Ruse by the chairperson of the GERB parliamentary group, Desislava Atanasova, during a meeting with members and sympathizers, quoted by BTA.

“We believe that we should introduce the most liberal fuel storage regime and the state should appoint a special representative,” Atanasova said.

In her words, “the fact that the government cannot make bold decisions should not be written in the account of all those who support it, because our parliamentary group knows how to manage even in a crisis”.

Yesterday, GERB leader Boyko Borisov got angry with Finance Minister Asen Vasilev on the topic of the sale of Lukoil and the latest change in the law, which between the first and second reading, the deputies were tricked into voting for it, but in fact it ensured a 100% monopoly for the company.

Borisov threatened that, despite the agreement to support Asen Vassilev’s laws, his people’s representatives will not vote for confidence amendments before they have discussed and analyzed them.

“The worrisome thing is that in the text we adopted, there is a text that the fuels are stored only in Bulgaria, which means that a 100% monopoly is given to Lukoil, importers can no longer import fuels. Only “Lukoil”. How is Lukoil pursued and at the same time you give it a complete monopoly and give it a derogation for billions, and it has paid zero leva in taxes”, asked the head of the energy commission Delyan Dobrev, who warned Borisov that GERB were misled in voting.
