MOSCOW, October 20, FederalPress. Diabetes mellitus develops as a result of metabolic disorders in the body, which can be caused by certain diseases. This was stated by doctor Larisa Alekseeva.
“Typically, diabetes mellitus occurs as a result of defects in insulin production or defects in insulin action,” Alekseeva said.
According to statistics from the World Health Organization, 422 million people are currently diagnosed with diabetes. This disease causes insulin resistance, which often occurs in adults. The pancreas continues to produce the necessary hormone, but it does not work.
Old age is one of the first factors provoking the development of diabetes mellitus. They also include obesity and excess fat cells in the abdominal area, heredity and stress.
