After the usual thanks and greetings, Kliment began to admire the latest investment of the Polish Football Association. – The training center in Otwock is a key investment for football in Poland. UEFA supports this project and can already guarantee cooperation and assistance in its creation – assured the representative of the European federation. A moment earlier, he referred to the recent parliamentary elections in Poland and appealed to the government. – Regardless of who forms the government, UEFA hopes that it will support not only football and physical activity, but also the construction of a training center – he admitted. Heidi Beha also appreciated the investment. – FIFA wants to cooperate with the Polish Football Association on this initiative – she assured.
The center costs PLN 400 million
Let us recall that the Polish Football Association announced the construction of the National Football Training, Research and Training Center in Otwock before the elections. Construction is scheduled to start in 2024 and take approximately three years. Its cost is PLN 400 million, and support was promised by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism. The project involves the creation of a multi-functional center with eight grass pitches and one covered pitch. The complex will also include: a specialized futsal hall, two beach soccer pitches (one of them covered), a medical center and an equipment warehouse. In addition, there is a modern administrative and educational building with an underground garage, a hotel and a dormitory for athletes for training at the School of Sports Championship. All on an area of approximately 12 hectares.
This is a strategic investment of the Polish Football Association in the context of the further development of football in Poland. And at various levels: from youth national teams, through research and implementation of innovative methods and technologies, training of referees and coaches, to the organization of international qualifying tournaments. The planned investment is primarily intended to support the development of sports, the education of coaches and referees, as well as the development of players, taking into account the needs of people with disabilities and thus promoting football and physical activity.
Michał Probierz announces: This is the only way
The new coach of the Polish national team also appeared at Friday’s delegates’ meeting. – Thank you to the president for your trust. I congratulate the clubs on increasingly better training facilities, it is extremely important for Polish football – said Michał Probierz. – After a month of work in the first team, I can say that we are monitoring about 70 players, while when calling up we focus on 44. These are difficult decisions. Against the Faroe Islands and Moldova, we gave a chance to four debutants. This is the only way to change our staff. We won’t get off it. I hope that the atmosphere around the national team will improve. We want to change the team’s mentality – he added about his work with the first national team.
Our team still has a chance to directly qualify for Euro 2024, but it must defeat the Czechs in November (17/11, 8:45 p.m.) and count on favorable results of other matches in our group. Two scenarios will give us promotion: Moldova loses to Albania and wins against the Czech Republic, or Moldova does not win against Albania and draws with the Czech Republic. Different results will mean that Michał Probierz’s team will have to fight for the tournament in Germany in the March play-offs. – We want to advance directly, and if we fail, we will do everything to get through the play-offs and play at the championship in Germany – concluded Probierz.
