Oppo Find N3: The New Generation of Folding Hybrid with Global Reach

Today in Singapore, Oppo announced the new generation of its “folding book” and immediately added an important piece of information. Starting with a new one Oppo Find N3 the folding hybrid will reach beyond the borders of China. So we can look forward to the fact that Samsung will finally have the necessary competition in the global markets, which can move the whole area quite a bit forward. And Oppo itself knows it, which has equipped the new puzzle to a much higher standard.

Let’s start with the displays that stretched to the height. The internal OLED has a new 7.8 inches, a refresh rate of 1-120 Hz and a brightness of up to 2,800 nits. The outer one then increased the diagonal to 6.3″ with a Full HD+ resolution at a refresh rate of 10-120 Hz. Oppo states that the display translation is almost “invisible” and adds an interesting certification of the new hinge on top. It has only a third of the original number of components, the new one is made of aircraft steel and zirconium alloy which lends durability to the lightweight hinge, it is also certified by the German TÜV authority for 1,000,000 “reliable folds”, an absolute record in the world of folding.

The Oppo Find N3 will be offered with both glass and leather backs

Find N3 can work even in a semi-open state at angles of 45-125 degrees between the two displays. The folding novelty has a thickness of 5.8 mm when opened, and increases to 11.78 mm when closed. For the version with glass on the back, the weight is 245 grams, in the case of leather, six grams less. Even so, the phone got a very respectable 4,805mAh battery that supports 67W charging via cable. You can charge from zero to one hundred in 42 minutes, wireless charging is not included. On the body of the phone we also find a USB-C connector, three speakers and a fingerprint reader built into the lock button.

A puzzle that reaches beyond China

The most striking visual feature on the back is the gigantic photo module with four Hasselblad cameras. The main 48 Mpx sensor (F1.7) is complemented by a 48 Mpx wide-angle lens (F2.2), which, thanks to autofocus, can also be used for taking macro pictures from a distance of 3.5 cm. The third in the party is a 64 Mpx telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom (F2.6), and the photo equipment also includes a second 16 Mpx telephoto lens (F2.6) with six times optical zoom. In the closed state, you can use the external 32 Mpx selfie, the last camera is waiting in the open state – a 20 Mpx camera with an aperture of 2.2.

Performance is provided by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which will be supplemented with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage in the global variant. The phone will be offered on the market as Dual SIM (nanoSIM +eSIM), and will come with Android 13 and ColorOS 13.2. Oppo has announced that it has global plans for this jigsaw, but it is not yet clear which countries the model will visit. Sales will start on October 27, but the European price of the phone is not yet known at this time.

Revived 19:00: Same phone, just under a different brand

Just a few hours later, the subsidiary company – OnePlus also presented its puzzle, moreover, the first ever under this brand. This is a OnePlus Open phone and the first look at the phone will show you that the manufacturer did not worry about originality here. This is because it is an absolutely identical phone to the Oppo Find N3, only with a different logo on the back. The manufacturer didn’t even bother to differentiate the phones by color either, but limited themselves to only two color variants – matte green and leatherette black.

The OnePlus Open foldable smartphone unveiled is just a rebranded Oppo Find N3

The phone has the same equipment and camera, including the maintained cooperation with the Hasselblad brand. The only difference here is the OxygenOS system environment, in version 13.2, which is also adapted for foldable phones. Unlike the Oppo Find N3, the phone is coming to Europe straight away and will not be cheap at all. Pre-order it for a price of EUR 1,899 (CZK 47,000), including to the Czech Republic.
