A serious security flaw has appeared on Android devices, due to which the new SpyNote virus is spreading rapidly on them. He can not only read messages, but also secretly record audio, video and phone calls. According to experts, it is very difficult to get rid of it once it is in the device.
Once installed on your phone or tablet, the SpyNote trojan has access to absolutely everything. It can access text messages, saved files, camera and microphone.
According to cyber security experts, SpyNote is mainly spread through suspicious text messages, which are called “smishing”. The virus is able to download and install spyware and hide in the application menu so that the user cannot find it, writes the British the Mirror newspaper.
You can only find out if you have a virus on your phone by looking in the application menu. But precisely because of the behavior of the virus, it is not certain that you will figure it out. You can get rid of it by restoring the phone to factory settings. But this will erase practically everything from the device.
“SpyNote remains hidden and records various information, including keystrokes, call logs, information about installed applications and so on. It remains hidden on the device, making it difficult to detect,” said Amit Tambe of the company in an article about the new virus F-Secure. Tambe added that all of this makes uninstallation extremely difficult.
