Secretary General of the Berkarya Party, Fauzan Rachmansyah, also highlighted the appointment of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md as Ganjar Pranowo’s vice presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election. Fauzan believes that Mahfud is a firm figure and has a good track record.
“Personally, Mahfud Md is a firm and clean figure, has a good track record,” said Fauzan to journalists, Wednesday (18/10/2024).
Fauzan said Mahfud Md deserves to be side by side with Ganjar. According to Fauzan, the two can complement each other with their respective experiences.
“Pak Mahfud and I share an alma mater at the Faculty of Law, Indonesian Islamic University (UII), so we know very well how much he loves the nation and is very experienced. Finally, a UII alumni has become vice presidential candidate, I personally like that decision,” he said.
“As long as Indonesia’s progress program is a priority, young people will definitely vote, and of course with a sincere heart and a feeling of love for the nation and state. For sure, I like it. The 2024 presidential election is getting more and more interesting,” he continued.
Even so, Fauzan said that his party had not yet decided on the direction of support for the presidential election. He said that currently Ketum Berkarya is still paying close attention to the existing dynamics.
“As a party, the general chairman will decide on the best partner who can lead to a Golden Indonesia 2045,” he said.
PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri previously announced that she would be a vice presidential candidate to accompany presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo. Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md was officially selected to accompany Ganjar in 2024.
Megawati made the announcement directly at the PDIP DPP, Jalan Diponegoro, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (18/10).
Megawati was accompanied by the general chairs of the pro-Ganjar coalition parties, namely Acting Ketum PPP Mardiono, Ketum Perindo Hary Tanoesoedibjo, Ketum Hanura Oesman Sapta Odang (OSO). Both Ganjar and Mahfud were also present at this announcement.
“So the vice presidential candidate chosen by PDIP who will accompany Ganjar Pranowo is Mr. Mahfud Md,” said Megawati.
