The Ministry of Culture and Historical Heritage of the Junta de Andalucía has been preparing the move from the current headquarters of the State or Provincial Library on Amador de los Ríos street, to the new building on Avenida de América. To do this, it put out to tender the contract for the transfer of books, newspapers, magazines and audiovisual materiall, as well as part of the furniture, computer equipment and various belongings.
Around 70,000 documents
The material that must be moved is, for the most part, bibliographic and audiovisual material, including nearly 70,000 documents belonging to the Bibliographic Heritage, archive boxes containing periodicals and documents, office supplies, as well as various furniture: photocopiers and printers, computer equipment, shelves, etc.
The move will be divided In the first stage, the orderly transfer and placement of books, magazines and other documents from the Amador de los Ríos building to the Avenida de América building, “shelf by shelf” and on the other the transfer of the equipment and the rest of the materials. As detailed in the contract document, the library has a fund belonging to the bibliographic heritage consisting of: 30,102 books and pamphlets, 671 manuscripts, 139 maps, 103 engravings, 156 sheet music and 555 newspaper and magazine titles.
With Monday’s act, the controversy between the Junta de Andalucía and the central government ends on the ownership of the equipment.
