D-Wave Quantum Inc., a leader in quantum computing systems, software and services, has launched an open source demonstration of how its Advantage™ quantum computing system can be used to address wireless channel decoding. Available on the Leap™ real-time quantum cloud service, this demonstration identifies solutions for increasing transmission capacity in wireless and cellular networks using coordinated multipoint decoding.
The exponential growth in the number of mobile connections worldwide has created complexity for the wireless industry. As a result, new solutions are needed to provide high quality services while reducing operating costs and capacity requirements. D-Wave’s demonstration highlights how its annealing quantum processing unit (QPU) can improve transmission performance, particularly in densely populated urban areas characterized by high noise and high load.
This example is the latest in a series of demonstrations demonstrating the practical applicability of D-Wave’s quantum and quantum classical hybrid solutions.
