Gigi Hadid and her family’s support for what happened to their hometown, Palestine, invited strong reactions from many parties.
If previously Gigi’s upload was commented on by an official Israeli account, now her family is receiving death threats. Reporting from TMZ, Gigi, Bella, Anwar and their parents, Mohamed and Yolanda Hadid, were terrorized by unknown people.
Starting from emails, telephone calls to social media, they were terrorized by death threats from several parties. Even their personal telephone numbers were announced on social media by an account and a number of people expressed their annoyance at their support for the massacre taking place in Palestine by Israel.
This terror is getting worse every day, forcing them to change their telephone number and Mohamed Hadid plans to report it to the FBI.
Previously, Gigi Hadid received criticism from the Israeli government after openly supporting Palestine.
This criticism was made via an upload on the Israeli government’s official Instagram Stories account. This account insulted Gigi and thought that her country was suffering much more.
“Have you slept for the past week?” wrote Gigi Hadid’s Israeli Instagram account, quoted on Tuesday (17/10/2023).
The official Israeli account also re-uploaded Gigi’s statement supporting Palestine. In fact, Israel also shared a photo of a floor covered in blood with children’s drawing books and stationery.
“If you don’t condemn this, your words mean nothing,” the account added.
Contrary to Israel’s claims, Gigi Hadid discussed the suffering of victims in Palestine.
“I have deep and heartbroken empathy for the Palestinian struggle and life under occupation, this is a responsibility I carry every day,” he wrote.
“I also feel a responsibility to my Jewish friends to make it clear, as I have done before: While I have hopes and dreams for the Palestinian people, none of them harm the Jewish people,” he continued.
Gigi Hadid herself is a model and Hollywood celebrity of Palestinian descent. Gigi and her sister, Bella Hadid, are quite vocal in supporting justice for Palestine.
In her statement, Gigi Hadid emphasized that her struggle is against colonialism. He said that everyone, regardless of nationality, ethnicity or religion, deserves the same basic rights, treatment and security.
“I will continue to speak out against injustice and inequality,” said Gigi Hadid.
