Marcia Joseph, an executive at Goodwill in Brooklyn (NYC), was charged on suspicion of creating a fake company to embezzle more than $2.3 million from that nonprofit organization.
Joseph, 57, used his ill-gotten money to pay your mortgage and car, remodel your home, receive spa treatments, and purchase luxury itemsaccording to federal prosecutors.

The Baldwin, Long Island, resident was arrested Wednesday on charges of electronic fraud and prosecuted in Brooklyn Federal Court. She was released on $50,000 bail.
According to the federal complaint, Joseph worked at that nonprofit organization that “receives funding from various sources, including the federal government, New York State, and the City of New York.” Although court documents did not identify her, sources familiar with the case confirmed that it was Goodwill, he said. Joseph started working there in 1996 and was promoted to senior tax official about a decade ago, according to the feds. For several years he funneled cash to a company called “Prestige Business Services.” which allegedly provided job search services to other companies on behalf of the nonprofit organization.
“Prestige didn’t actually do any work. “It was created and used by Joseph for the sole purpose of embezzling approximately $2,339,700 from (the non-profit organization),” according to the criminal complaint.

All charges are mere accusations and those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
