Apple Opens New Labs in New York City and Sydney to Support Vision Pro Testings

Apple has clearly heard one of the complaints raised by developers potentially interested in the Vision Pro. The company has indeed announced the opening of new labs in two additional cities, New York City in the United States and Sydney in Australia. These sessions, which allow the augmented reality headset to be tested with app prototypes, are brought closer to developers present on the North American east coast and in Oceania.

New York and Sydney join Cupertino in California, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo which were the places previously chosen by Apple to host these labs. Having only one location on the West Coast of the United States always seemed like an odd choice, and many developers complained about it and refused to travel across an entire continent for these sessions. This may have played a role in the lack of interest in these labs, if rumors in the corridor are to be believed, even if Apple was keen to officially contradict them subsequently.

Developers would not rush to Apple’s labs dedicated to Vision Pro

Apple: developers are excited about the Vision Pro workshops

Success or not, Apple is clearly seeking to get closer to developers still potentially interested in its headset. If this is your case, you can request to participate at this addressknowing that a screenshot of the visionOS simulator will be necessary to show what you are working on.
