4 Memorandums of Understanding Signed to Support Youth Empowerment and National Identity

Yesterday, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sandooq Al Watan, witnessed the signing of 4 memorandums of understanding with national institutions, which included “the Ministry of Culture and Youth, the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, the Emirates Academy for Identity and Citizenship, and the University of Sharjah,” in the presence of José Ramos-Horta, President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

The four memorandums focus on enhancing cooperation between Sandooq Al Watan and all signatory institutions, to achieve common goals in caring for and supporting the sons and daughters of the Emirates, empowering them in the field of entrepreneurship, and enhancing their values ​​of innovation and creativity, including the values ​​of national identity, as the partners agreed to make every effort for the present. And the future of the UAE’s youth.

For his part, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said, after signing the memorandums of understanding, that we all seek to mobilize all efforts to achieve the goals and vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, in caring for young people, empowering them in the labor market and enhancing their capabilities. To launch into the field of entrepreneurship, enhance national identity, and stimulate innovation and creativity among them.

His Excellency stressed that it is an exceptional day in the history of the Fund, as it witnessed the signing of 4 memorandums of understanding to provide all the ingredients for fruitful and constructive cooperation with institutions such as the Ministry of Culture and Youth, the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, the Emirates Academy for Identity and Citizenship, and the University of Sharjah, appreciating the role of these institutions in caring for the youth of the Emirates. This opens new horizons for Sandooq Al Watan, developing its activities, services and initiatives, and enhancing its role in empowering the sons and daughters of the Emirates in various fields.

His Excellency explained that establishing the appropriate environment for cooperation and partnership with federal, local and private institutions aims to activate all initiatives and programs that prepare graduates to join private sector jobs, or those that focus on developing entrepreneurship skills in various fields, and helping citizens to establish their companies successfully.

He continued: “The Fund’s programs include training young people to deal with the digital world, and helping them transform this ability into an economic production resource for them. This cooperation also aims to deepen the channels of communication and dialogue between all institutions of society, and contribute to empowering the Emirati citizen, in addition to strengthening the values ​​of identity.” Patriotism among all segments and individuals of society, and it is a role assigned to everyone.”

In a related context, His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture and Youth, confirmed that this agreement serves to strengthen the ties that bring together the Ministry with Sandooq Al Watan, and opens the way for continuing efforts to improve the reality of joint work between both parties, as well as contributing to consolidating the two cultures. Innovation and creativity, and instilling values ​​and concepts of national identity.
