Madonna Faces £300 Thousand Fine for Violating Curfew at London Concert

American pop star Madonna could face a fine of £300 thousand (more than $365 thousand) for violating a strict curfew during a London concert as part of The Celebration Tour. The newspaper reports this The Sun.

According to strict UK rules, all concert activities must end at 22:30 local time. However, Madonna continued to sing after the “X hour”, but at 23:00 her concert was suddenly interrupted. The singer’s most beloved hits remained unperformed.

The publication points out that if Madonna had not delayed the start of the concert, which was scheduled for 21:00, she would have had time to sing everything she wanted.

For violating the curfew in the UK, a fine of £10 thousand ($12 thousand) is imposed for each overdue minute, since Madonna’s concert exceeded the established period by half an hour, the minimum tariff is multiplied by 30.

Such rules are in force in the country so that after the concert, spectators can safely get home by public transport.

The Celebration Tour was Madonna’s 12th concert tour. The singer will give concerts in 78 cities in North America and Europe. The tour started on October 14 in London and will end on April 24, 2024 in Mexico City. The tour is dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the singer’s creative career.
