After months of negotiations with the Presidency of the Republic, which initially vetoed him, Cavayé Yéguié Djibril finally obtained authorization to be evacuated to France and obtained a one-year visa. This trip by the President of the National Assembly (PAN) had been planned since August.
The option of a trip to India – less expensive than a departure for France – had been considered. But, faced with a financial scandal within the institution he heads, he was finally forced to cancel his trip and return to Mada, his native village, where he serves as traditional chief.
