PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri met with Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md. The meeting took place at Megawati’s residence on Jalan Teuku Umar, Menteng, Central Jakarta (Jakpus).
“I got the information and it said it was correct,” explained PDIP politician TB Hasanuddin to journalists, Tuesday (17/10/2023).
Photos of Megawati and Mahfud meeting also circulated on social media. Megawati was seen wearing cream colored clothes, while Mahfud wore green batik. Mahfud was also seen carrying a black book.
“If you look at the photos, it’s true (of the meeting at Teuku Umar),” said TB Hasanuddin.
Megawati and Mahfud’s meeting took place ahead of the announcement of Ganjar Pranowo’s vice presidential candidate tomorrow. The Hanura Party said that the figure with the initials M had strengthened to become Ganjar’s vice presidential candidate.
“The initials are M,” said Hanura Party Vice Chairman, Benny Rhamdani when asked for confirmation, Tuesday (17/10/2023).
Benny did not clearly say that the M he meant was Mahfud Md. Benny then said that M could be someone other than Mahfud Md.
The figure of Ganjar’s vice presidential candidate was then also revealed by the Chairman of the PPP Advisory Council, M Romahurmuziy. Rommy said vice presidential candidate Ganjar is a religious figure.
“We believe that the figure who will accompany Mas Ganjar is a religious figure whose integrity as a public official stretches across decades,” said Rommy in a written statement, Tuesday (17/10/2023).
Rommy said that Ganjar’s vice presidential candidate also has a clean, uncompromising track record. He also said that this figure had previously worked in the legislature, executive and judiciary.
“Apart from that, his complete experience in all Trias Politika rooms, as well as his track record of uncompromising cleanliness, will really help Mas Ganjar to make Indonesia great in time,” he said.
