Last Monday (16), the official opening of the Santiago 2023 Pan-American Village took place in Chile. There were several athletes from Brazil from different disciplines and the diving team was the first to arrive.
Rebeca Andrade, Olympic and world champion in artistic gymnastics, highlight of the Brazilian delegation, arrived in Santiago and commented on the opportunity to compete in the Pan American Games for the first time.
– Gymnastics has just arrived here in Vila. We’re debuting, this is. It’s my first Pan and I’m very excited and happy to be here, so I hope everything goes well. I hope it will be an excellent competition for us – commented Rebeca.
Brazil’s artistic gymnastics squad only had a week of rest and also training after the Antwerp campaign (they won six medals in total). Afterwards, the teams were already at the COB CT to prepare for the Pan.
Good morning, Santiago!!!
Our Women’s and Men’s Artistic Gymnastics teams are already in Chile for another super challenge: The 2023 Pan American Games

– Brazilian gymnastics is becoming a reference, not only in our country, but throughout the world. Brazil can show how much we have grown and how much more we can grow. We have the full support of our multidisciplinary team, the COB, the Confederation and the clubs that make us very proud. The global result was expected for generations and we managed to get it off the ground with a lot of work (…) The result is a consequence. We are happy and healthy to have an excellent competition, just like we did at the World Cup – explained Rebeca.
There are five days left until the sport’s debut. The artistic gymnastics competitions begin with the men’s team competition on October 21st and end on the 25th. In addition to Rebeca, the Brazilian team has other highlights, such as Olympic medalist Arthur Nory, Jade Barbosa, Flávia Saraiva, among others
