Russia Launches Offensive in Eastern Ukraine: Latest Updates and Analysis

“Russia has very likely launched a concerted offensive on several axes in Eastern Ukraine,” the ministry announced today on the “X” platform.

Russian troops have been maintaining an attack on Avdijivka for some time. The city has so far been a major obstacle in Russia’s attempts to take full control of the Donetsk region, which is partially occupied by Moscow, the British Ministry of Defense said in a daily report on the situation in Ukraine.

According to the Ministry’s assessment, Russia could try to surround the city with several tank battalions.

“It will most likely be the most significant offensive operation that Russia has implemented since January 2023,” the ministry said.

Ukrainian forces entrenched in trenches have so far prevented Russian troops from advancing, London said.
