PR says that the sport has established itself nationally and internationally – Jornal OPaís

In his speech on the State of the Nation, delivered yesterday at the National Assembly, the President of the Republic (PR), João Lourenço, said, among other things, that Angolan sport stood out in regional, African and world competitions.

In the great room of the National Assembly, in Luanda, the Head of State said that Angola stood out in regional, African and world competitions with satisfactory results. João Lourenço stated that the number of people practicing sport and physical activity has significantly increased, with special emphasis on the promotion of sport in communities and the process of reviving traditional games.

The President of the Republic spoke of the exponential increase in the number of national competitions at various levels and the greater representation of women in different modalities and levels, as well as the improvement in the country’s classification in the Region 5 Games.

Before deputies and other invited figures, at the National Assembly, the Head of State referred to the construction and rehabilitation of sports infrastructures.

Within the scope of the development of national sport, João Lourenço spoke about the recovery and rehabilitation of the Tundavala National Stadium, in the province of Huíla, the Multipurpose Pavilion of Luanda and the Pavilhão das Acácias Rubras, in the province of Benguela, as well as the partial rehabilitation of the Stadium November 11th, in the province of Luanda.

The President of the Republic also highlighted that construction work is underway on the José Sayovo Paralympic Sports Complex, in Caxito, in the province of Bengo, and the football stadiums in the provinces of Huambo and Uíge.
