The Israeli army announced, on Tuesday, that it had killed 4 people who attempted to infiltrate from Lebanon, as tensions escalated on the border between the two countries.
The army said in a statement: “A short while ago, the Israeli army’s surveillance forces detected a terrorist cell trying to infiltrate the security fence with Lebanon and plant an explosive device.”
The army indicated that “four terrorists were killed.”
Since the war between Israel and Hamas began on October 7, intermittent skirmishes have taken place on the Israeli-Lebanese border, leading to the killing of 10 people on the Lebanese side, most of them fighters, but including a Reuters journalist and two civilians.
On the Israeli side, at least two people were killed.
