On board, two men extricated by emergency services. The sports car they were in was lying on its roof, badly damaged.
Despite attempts at cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the driver and passenger were declared dead by emergency services. The firefighters were alerted shortly before 6 p.m. by motorists passing on this small country road.
Open investigation
The sports car was driving on the D157, from the village towards Estivareilles, reports the mayor present on site. According to initial findings, she was probably alone at the time of the accident.
An investigation is opened by the police. Around ten firefighters, mainly from Montluçon, under the command of Captain Sylvain Bellier, were dispatched.
During the intervention, the few passing drivers were asked to turn around. The departmental road was not diverted.
