New York Police Department’s Hate Crimes Unit Investigates Attack on Turban-Wearing Man

The Hate Crimes Unit of the New York Police Department is on the trail of a suspect who allegedly insulted and attacked a 19-year-old young man for wearing a turban.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on Sunday, around 9:00 am, on an MTA bus that was traveling on 118th Street and Liberty Avenue in Richmond Hill, Queens.

“We don’t use that in this country,” the suspect told the victim, before attacking her.

After those words, he hit him several times, tried to remove his turban and then fled from the bus.

The New York Police published images of the alleged aggressor, with dark skin, short afro hair, jeans and a thick yellow jacket.

MTA authorities regretted what happened and hope that the suspect will be captured.
