Just a few days after their success in the German Bowl, the Potsdam Royals extended the expiring contract with their star quarterback Jaylon Henderson. As the German American football champions announced at their championship celebration on Monday evening, the American will remain part of the Potsdam team for another season.
In front of around 400 people celebrating, Henderson immediately announced that he wanted to defend the title in the coming season. “I am very grateful to the whole team and am already looking forward to next year,” the quarterback told rbb after the announcement of his contract extension.
Henderson led his team with outstanding performances throughout the season and took them to the final of the German Football League (GFL). There the Royals prevailed against Schwäbisch Hall last Saturday and won the first championship in the club’s history. The quarterback was named the game’s most valuable player. He ran for 140 yards and contributed three touchdowns in the win.
