The new American streaming service MAX will come to the Netherlands in the spring of 2024. The new platform is a merger of the existing streaming services HBO Max and discovery+.
The streaming service will not only feature all HBO and HBO Max series, but also all films from studio Warner Bros. and many programs from Discovery Channel and Food Network.
The new platform will be available in 22 European countries in the spring of 2024. Later that year this will also happen in France and Belgium. These countries do not currently have HBO Max.
The Benelux is the only area where the American streaming service is given a different name. This is because the name MAX has been claimed in the Benelux by Jan Slagter and his broadcaster. Broadcaster MAX was considering taking legal action if HBO Max used the name in the Netherlands.
